Crop Insurance for Cattle Producers

We understand the challenges cattle producers face, whether it’s unpredictable markets or shifting weather patterns. That’s why we offer crop insurance products designed to give you peace of mind when it’s time to load the trailer.

LIVESTOCK RISK PROTECTION (LRP)

LRP provides protection against declining livestock prices if the price, as specified in the policy, drops below the producer’s selected coverage price.

LRP has no sales deadline, allowing producers to enroll throughout the year as market conditions change.

PASTURE, RANGELAND AND FORAGE (PRF)

PRF provides protection for a producer’s operation from the risks of forage loss due to the lack of precipitation.

Producers may select from a variety of coverage levels, productivity factors and two-month index intervals to personalize their plan. The program utilizes a rainfall index to determine precipitation for coverage purposes and does not measure production or loss of products themselves.

Must be enrolled by December 1st for coverage in the following calendar year.
