Meet Marcus Boone, Farm Credit of Florida's New CEO

Farm Credit of Florida is pleased to announce the selection of Marcus Boone as the new Chief Executive Officer to succeed retiring CEO Rob Teston effective January 1, 2022. Boone brings a wealth of experience within the banking and financial services industry.

“I am blessed and honored to be selected as the next CEO of Farm Credit of Florida,” said Boone. “Rob and I have worked together for most of the past 36 years and he has been a great mentor. I’m looking forward to building on the strong performance the Association has experienced under his leadership.”

Boone has over 40 years of experience with Farm Credit, beginning his career in his native state of Georgia. After working with two different associations in Georgia, Marcus moved to Florida and began a 21 year career with Farm Credit of Central Florida. His Farm Credit journey then took him to the Farm Credit Bank of Texas, serving as relationship manager and then advancing to Vice President/Unit Manager of the Association Direct Lending Unit. Marcus returned to Florida in 2013 as the Chief Lending Officer at Farm Credit of Florida, a leadership role that he continues today as he manages the entire lending staff throughout the Farm Credit of Florida territory.

The Farm Credit of Florida Board of Directors launched a nation-wide search and thoroughly vetted many candidates. Marcus was selected because of his passion for Farm Credit of Florida’s customers and our team members, leadership, and business knowledge.

"Marcus brings a wealth of knowledge and 40 years of experience to the position. Marcus previously held the position of Chief Lending officer, where he helped guide Farm Credit of Florida to record profits and record payouts to our members. We are sure that Marcus will continue to keep Farm Credit of Florida the ag lender of choice in the state,” Farm Credit of Florida Chairman Eric Hopkins stated.
